Dr. Steven H. Thompson brings decades of emergency care experience to Focus Health's leadership team. A 1994 graduate of New York Medical College, Dr. Thompson has spent over three decades practicing and leading emergency medicine in Dallas and across North Texas. As Chief Medical Officer of Focus Physicians Group PLLC, he leads ER physician alignment, clinical quality standards, and rapid-response care protocols across Focus Health's freestanding emergency room platform.

Dr. Ahmed Khan is a board-certified emergency medicine physician affiliated with Focus Physicians Group PLLC. With deep experience in high-acuity emergency care, Dr. Khan has developed a reputation for rapid, accurate clinical decision-making and a strong commitment to patient outcomes. Dr. Rabeea R. Lodhra
MD | Emergency Medicine Fellowship-Trained | Family Medicine
Dr. Rabeea R. Lodhra is an emergency medicine fellowship-trained physician with a strong foundation in family medicine. She earned her Doctor of Medicine from Ross University School of Medicine and completed her family medicine residency at Aurora Lakeland, followed by an Emergency Medicine Fellowship through US Acute Care Solutions (USACS). She also holds a Bachelor of Liberal Arts, with minors in biology and philosophy, from the University of St. Thomas in Houston, Texas. Dr. Lodhra brings a broad, patient-centered approach to acute and emergency care, complemented by additional training in addiction medicine — including ASAM-recognized treatment of opioid use disorder. She maintains current ACLS, PALS, ATLS, NRP, and ALSO certifications and is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the Wisconsin Society of Addiction Medicine. She has also contributed to community and global health initiatives, from local health screenings to international medical mission work. Fluent in English and Urdu, Dr. Lodhra is dedicated to compassionate, accessible care as part of Focus Physicians Group PLLC.

Dr. Vijaya Nandi
MD | Board-Certified Internal Medicine | 15+ Years Emergency Medicine
Dr. Vijaya Nandi is a board-certified internal medicine physician who has practiced full-time emergency medicine for more than 15 years across Level II, III, and IV trauma centers throughout Texas. She completed her internal medicine residency at Meridia Huron Hospital within the Cleveland Clinic Health System and is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Earlier in her career she trained and practiced as an ophthalmologist in India, completing a fellowship in comprehensive ophthalmology and performing more than 1,000 cataract and intraocular lens surgeries. Across Texas freestanding and hospital-based emergency rooms — including Sure Point, Total Care, Altus, and Prestige emergency centers — Dr. Nandi has delivered high-acuity emergency care and served as an ER Medical Director and hospital Chief of Staff. She is skilled in a wide range of emergency procedures, including chest tube insertion, tension pneumothorax decompression, endotracheal intubation, central line placement, complex laceration repair, and ventilator management, and maintains ATLS, ACLS, PALS, and BLS certifications. Fluent in English, Telugu, and Hindi, Dr. Nandi brings exceptional clinical breadth and a deep commitment to patient care as part of Focus Physicians Group PLLC.

Dr. Robert L. Wright
MD, FACEP | Board-Certified Emergency Medicine | 30+ Years Experience
Dr. Robert L. Wright is a board-certified emergency medicine physician and Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians (FACEP) with more than three decades of experience in emergency care and physician leadership. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas and completed his emergency medicine residency at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in El Paso, where he served as Chief Resident. Over his career, Dr. Wright has held senior leadership roles across some of the nation's largest emergency medicine and urgent care organizations — serving as National Medical Director for Emergency Medicine and Hospital-Based Services at ApolloMD, overseeing thousands of clinicians and millions of annual patient encounters, and as Medical Director of HCA Healthcare's urgent care and telehealth network. He has directed emergency departments and freestanding emergency centers throughout the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex, building clinical quality, EMS coordination, and performance-improvement programs. As part of Focus Physicians Group PLLC, Dr. Wright brings this depth of operational and bedside emergency expertise to freestanding ER care across Texas.

Dr. Vinh T. Mai
MD | Board-Certified Family Medicine | Emergency Medicine Physician
Dr. Vinh T. Mai is a board-certified family medicine physician who practices emergency medicine across the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex. He earned his Doctor of Medicine with honors from the Texas A&M Health Science Center College of Medicine and completed his family medicine residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Tyler, where he gained extensive emergency room and acute-care experience. Dr. Mai has served as an emergency room physician at Baylor Surgical Hospital Las Colinas and Baylor Medical Center Uptown, and previously held a physician and medical director role in the Las Colinas area. His broad primary-care foundation paired with frontline emergency experience allows him to deliver well-rounded, patient-centered acute care. He practices as part of Focus Physicians Group PLLC's freestanding emergency room platform in Texas.

Dr. David P. Gillett

Dr. David P. Gillett is a board-certified physician with more than two decades of emergency medicine experience and a strong record of emergency department leadership. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from the University of New Mexico School of Medicine and completed his residency training within the Texas A&M / Scott & White and UTMB systems. He maintains current ATLS, ACLS, PALS, and BLS certifications. Throughout his career, Dr. Gillett has served as Medical Director and Director of numerous emergency departments and freestanding emergency centers across Texas — including roles with Integrative Emergency Services and Envision throughout East Texas and El Paso. He has helped establish and open new emergency departments and led departmental stroke, sepsis, and trauma certification efforts. As part of Focus Physicians Group PLLC, he brings seasoned clinical judgment and operational leadership to freestanding ER care across Texas.

Dr. Frank J. Sheppard
MD, FACS | Board-Certified Surgery & Colon and Rectal Surgery | Emergency Medicine Physician
Dr. Frank J. Sheppard is a board-certified surgeon and Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS) who practices emergency medicine across Texas. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from M.H. Aznar Memorial College of Medicine (Southwestern University) and completed his general surgery residency at Hamot Medical Center in Erie, Pennsylvania, followed by fellowships in colon and rectal surgery and in cardiothoracic surgery. He is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery. Over a distinguished career spanning more than four decades, Dr. Sheppard has served as a staff surgeon, Chief of Surgery, and Associate Professor of Surgery at hospitals and medical centers across Texas, New Mexico, and beyond, and has practiced as an emergency room physician throughout numerous Texas communities. He holds ATLS and ACLS instructor credentials along with training in hyperbaric medicine and pediatric advanced life support. As part of Focus Physicians Group PLLC, Dr. Sheppard brings exceptional surgical depth and emergency expertise to freestanding ER care.

Dr. Sesan F. Ogunleye

Dr. Sesan F. Ogunleye is a board-certified family medicine physician who practices emergency medicine across the Dallas–Fort Worth area. He earned his medical degree (MBBS) from the College of Medicine at the University of Ibadan and completed his family practice residency through the Wichita Falls Family Practice Residency Program, an affiliate of the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas. He is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and holds CPR, ATLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications. Dr. Ogunleye has provided emergency department coverage across numerous Texas facilities — including with the Wellness and Care Group of Texas, PrestigeER, and Texas Health Resources — and brings broad clinical experience spanning emergency, primary, and surgical-assist care developed over a career on two continents. He practices as part of Focus Physicians Group PLLC's freestanding emergency room platform in Texas.
